Regional Development Australia (RDA) is a new joint initiative between the Australian and NSW State Governments.

The network of 14 RDAs in NSW replaces the former Commonwealth Area Consultative Committees network and the NSW State Regional Development Board network.

RDA Orana NSW replaces Gowest regional development board and Orana Area Consultative Committee.

It continues to encompass an area covering approximately 25% of NSW and incorporate 13 Local Government Areas.

RDA committee members are appointed jointly by the NSW Minister for Regional Development and the Commonwealth Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Development.

About the RDA NSW network.

The RDA NSW network will:

>Cooperate to improve the co-ordination and delivery of regional development initiatives;
>Deliver strategic input into national programs and help co-ordinate development initiatives at the regional and local level;
>Work with all levels of government as a key link organisation to empower communities in regional development activities;
>Provide independent advice to government on the efficacy of the delivery of policies and programs across all levels of government.
